Senator Horch assumes sponsorship

It has been a longstanding tradition in Hamburg that senators assume sponsorships for foundations. And the Jens-Peter and Betsy Schlüter Foundation fits, as hardly any other, perfectly with the maritime metropolitan region of Hamburg. The purpose of the Foundation is to promote scientific developments in the area of shipping and environmental protection.

In practice, this involves the awarding of research projects on topics of maritime shipping and environmental protection, awards for excelling scientific achievements in the areas of shipping and environmental protection, as well as scholarships for highly qualified students in this area.

When he received the sponsorship certificate today, Senator Frank Horch said: “The Jens-Peter and Betsy Schlüter Foundation is serving well the local industry here in the metropolitan region. The Foundation, which is based in Rendsburg, takes care of our maritime heritage by addressing issues of relevance for the future. Furthermore, it ensures that we will not run out of young talents in the maritime industry.”
