The Foundation’s Managemant Board has implemented its statutory requirements into concrete projects in close cooperation with the maritime industry and the maritime scientific community.
In doing so, we have focused particularly on sharing knowledge with the next generation of maritime professionals and with less developed countries.
The Management Board is convinced that knowledge transfer can make a significant contribution to the improvemnt of the marine environment.
We began in 2016 with a kick-off event on marine environmental protection. Shortly thereafter, in cooperation with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), we identified underwater noise as a key focus area and organized an international conference on the subject in Hamburg in 2019 and an international workshop in Malmö in 2024.
